The last couple of years have been full of changes and developments. Not least of which a new workshop and studio. The workshop is still a work in progress but we now have a dedicated studio for the finer work in rocking horse restoration.

Another exciting update is that Sasha is enrolled in a Bachelor of Heritage, Museums and Conservation degree, and is almost halfway through. This will make Sasha qualified to work on museum collections. She will also be fully accredited with AICCM (The Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material), and fully versed in best practice for restoration and conservation.

Moving house, temporary work overseas, study and a death in the family have slowed us down, but we are very much still here! We currently have 57 antique and vintage rocking horses in our care (not all ours!). This site is being updated, but in the meantime, find us on Facebook for current information, updates on recent arrivals and horses available for sale.

We are not accepting new restoration commitments at this time.

Nothing in the world captures the imagination the way a rocking horse can, and an old horse that has served generations of young riders has its own special enchantment.

We are passionate about all kinds of classic wooden rocking horses and restoring them. The Rocking Horse Studio in Sydney exists to showcase a comprehensive range of traditional wooden rocking horses. We are privileged custodians to some rare and beautiful rocking horses in our own collection, which includes well-known and loved types but also unique unattributed examples.

We have a small number of rocking horses for sale at any given time. We also have a small number of horses available unrestored should you wish to try restoration yourself - with or without guidance.

We are not a shop, this is a small artisan workshop where good things take time and good results take good relationships.
