Testimonials

'I was looking for a rocking horse for my young daughter and happened upon Sasha's website. I fell in love with some of the photos in the gallery and contacted Sasha for more information. Since then I have been lucky enough for Sasha to guide me and offer her truthful opinion on rocking horses both in Australia and overseas. One day I will tell my husband just how many I have really bought :-). Fortunately Sasha is also a voice of reason on each occasion that I contact her when contemplating another purchase, it makes no difference whether it be from her own collection or from another restorer, she ensures that the rocking horse will complement my collection and is a worthwhile addition. She helps me keep my eye on my big picture". - Michelle, VIC. June 2014.

"Hi Sasha, Sorry this has taken so long. Roland arrived at our house recently, a beautiful large Lines bow. He has the most wonderful carving to his face, much original paint and we were surprised at how lovely he is. Thank you for all your help and patience, Sasha. We are really pleased" - Louise, QLD. June 2014

"I contacted Sasha to ask some general information about my mum's childhood rocking-horse she was thinking about selling.  I was thrilled Sasha knew everything I needed to know and luckily for everyone had a client who was looking for exactly the horse we had.  Dealing with Sasha could not have been easier.  Though its sad to see our horse go I know he'll be looking spick and span in no time and off to a loving new owner.  Cannot wait to see him in all his new glory" - Jaynie, WA. Jaynie contacted Rocking Horse Studio for information on a tiny rocking horse she was hoping to get $50 for. "Sprite" turned out to be a super-collectable, rare No 1 Bartlett and the price was over 10 times as much as hoped for.

"Hi Sasha, I just wanted to thank you very much for helping me to trade up through two different English rocking horses to my dream rocking horse, a large early English bow.  I simply couldn’t have done it without your help and assistance in sourcing horses on my wish list, restoring them to such a high specification and selling them on when the time came.  It is extremely daunting to even contemplate bringing a rocking horse from England to Australia, but you did it so effortlessly with your importing experience and overseas contacts.  Buying the imported horses from you was extremely cost effective compared to trying to do it myself and I can’t recommend you highly enough to anyone wanting to buy an imported rocking horse.   I wouldn’t even think about trying to do it myself.  Thanks again so much." - Alison, NSW

" I just thought I should let you know how thrilled the family is with the Bartlett and the Smith horses.Looking at your web page and the article in Antiques & Collectables you only see an image, and as good as they are you don't fully realise just how good your restoration skills are, the attention to details are outstanding, the finish on the horses far exceeded our expectations. I would be delighted to speak to any potential clients regarding the horses and if they live around our area to see the results first hand. thank you again for the work you haev achieved on our behalf, artists and craftsman of your calibre are like rocking horse manure". - Peter, NSW. June 2013

"Just thought I would let you know we are thrilled with Valentine. You done a wonderful job. My Daughter loves him, she is getting on and off by herself already. He certainly has the wow factor."

-Shane, QLD. April 2013

"We have a very, very happy little boy; Denny has had quite the work out already!  He is still in the lounge room for all to see and he certainly has a real crowd following.  You wouldn’t believe how many people are just in awe of him (including us).  He has exceeded all our expectations and you can be assured that he will have a home in the family forever…" - Tania, Victoria. December 2012

"I can honestly say that your work is the best I've see in Australia, and on a par with Patricia Mullins when it comes to artwork and authenticity.... Just shown *** and he said how lovely Edmond looks, you have kept to the authentic finish, and the tack is also just right." J, United Kingdom. 2011

"Sasha I decided I will wait for you to restore my Rocking Horse after all. I have been looking at all the rocking horse sites in Australia for a long time and your Number Three Roebuck stands out from the rest. Im disapointed that I won't be giving it to my grandson this year but I think I would be even more disapointed if it wasn't done just right. It will be worth the wait". - Bruce, NSW.

“Sasha thank you for doing a wonderful restoration to our beautiful Jemima, your attention to detail of presenting us with a 1910 Roebuck as she would have been when she was first presented to the world is a pleasure to see.
Jemima was my gift to my wife for her birthday and our grandchildren love her, but were most disappointed she would not fit in the car so they could take her home, thank you again for all your help and assistance in getting Jemima ready in time for the birthday, your detailed advice and knowledge was most appreciated in the journey of getting Jemima to our house"

"I just wanted to say how much we appreciated your help in finding a new home for our rocking horse. We didn't have a clue where to being or what would be a fair price. With your help I think we got a good outcome for everybody." Andrew, August 2012

"Hello, I just wanted to say, I thought 'Edmund' was delightful. I wish I was in a better financial position to have been able to welcome him to our home. Thankyou for allowing me to share in the joy of him."

"We found the Rocking Horse Studio by accident or fate, as we were trying to find some one to restore our son’s Rocking Horse. We knew we need to find some one who loved Rocking Horses at least as much as our son loved his. It had been given to him at the age of 2 & he had kept it with the view to restoring him when he was lucky enough to have his own children. After looking at lots of restorers, from the first E-mail to the Rocking Horse Studio I had a feeling this was where we should send him. What we came to realise was this wonderful woman not only loved Rocking Horses & had a great knowledge of them, with the open mindedness to learn even more, but that she repairs each & every Horse as if it were her own Horse. What more could we ask for? As you can see by the pictures our poor sad “Roy” is now a beautiful proud “new” Rocking Horse and takes pride of place in our Grandson’s bedroom. We placed our trust in the Rocking Horse Studio & have never regretted it for one moment.

If you are thinking Rocking Horses please stop & consider the Rocking Horse Studio. You won’t regret it." - Virginia, November 2010

"Thank you so much for the work, patience and love you have shown my horse he’s truly amazing.  ...When they brought the horse to my house I was blown away – hard not to cry!  As for his future rest assured he will never be sold as long as I’m alive and hopefully will remain in our family forever for all the children to play with.  I love him!!" - May 2011

"I was so impressed with the enthusiasm and craftsmanship of the Rocking Horse Studio!  The knowledge, dedication and attention to detail shown in their restoration work should be commended.  There is obviously a great passion for everything Rocking Horses here.  Along with an affable and professional attitude, one of their greatest assets is understanding the worth of these horses to their families.  My restoration work involved some subtle personal touches which were seamlessly blended with the historical accuracy required with restoration work. Our horse might be over 60 years old but to deny him the enjoyment of play would be to not truly appreciate all that he is. I can now encourage my son to fully enjoy our Rocking Horse as the toy "he” is; confident in ongoing repairs for any mishaps. I couldn’t be more pleased with the Rocking Horse Studio’s work and will be forever grateful for the patience, energy and love invested in our “boy”.  They deserves more thanks than I can pass on in words other than the assurance that our Horse will always remain a priceless treasure in our family for generations to enjoy." - Wayne, June 2011

"I had wanted an English rocking horse for so long but I wasn’t sure how to make it a reality, then I found The Rocking Horse Studio.  I contacted Sasha and she was sure she would have something I liked.  When I visited Sasha I felt like I was in rocking horse heaven, as she had an impressive line up of both English and Australian horses and I found an English horse that I fell in love with, that was to be restored and that I could afford.   I was involved in choices about finishes and knew what happened at each stage of the restoration from beginning to end and nothing was too much trouble for Sasha, she made it so easy for me and it was so exciting to see the different stages of the restoration.  I now have  the completed horse and she is just beautiful, better than I could have ever imagined. Thanks Sasha so much for making my dream come true". - Alison, October 2011

"Dear Sacha, How do we ever thank you for such a beautiful Clancy. It really was love at first sight wasn't it! As I've said to you before, I have ALWAYS wanted a rocking horse. There is just something nostalgic about having one or seeing one in a home. I think for young and old, it brings smiles to faces and seems to hit a spot with childhood memories. You have been an absolute pleasure to deal with and looking back to when we first spotted Clancy, I'm so happy that we shared the journey with YOU. I can tell from your emails and explanations that you have a genuine love and care for these horses and your work. It's almost like you are making each one for yourself!! Thank you also for storing Clancy while we moved. That was ABOVE AND BEYOND - then again, that pretty much sums up our whole experience! Many thanks, Sarah, Tristan and Miles." - October 2011
