No 3 Roebuck

Circa 1950

Such a shame that the original dapples on this horse had been partially covered over with smudges of black paint, as his harness is entirely original.

It is wonderful to have authentic harness as put on in the Roebuck factory from this period, all the details have been carefully recorded for future reference. There were a number of unusual details about the harness on this horse, like tassels in the rosettes, brown leather saddlecloth and brass tacks rather than nickel.

He was named Trigger by his previous owner, who had him since childhood and together boy and horse relived the adventures of Roy Rogers.

Trigger has new harness that is an almost exact replica of original (small exceptions were leather rather than vinyl trim on the saddlecloth and we did not recreate the unusual yellow or red tassels that were part of the rosettes).
