No 4 Bartlett

Circa 1920-30

Lovely No 4 Bartlett from probably the 1920s. Although Freya stands 43" high, she has a long gait and a 25 1/2" body length which makes her a large rocking horse, the largest Bartlett made.

Freya arrived in solid condition, although not very pretty. Her stand was a mess - thin replacement timbers were rotting and replaced with Araucaria timber chosen to match that of the original hoof rails and pillars, and stained.

All of Freya's restoration was done with meticulous attention to detail, trying to recreate as closely as possible the authentic Bartlett style. Harness is high quality Italian leather on the saddle cushion, with the rest hand-dyed and cut to exact dimensions of the visiting horse.

Freya's new life in Townsville started under a Christmas tree in 2011. We are sure she will give many, many years of pleasure to the two little girls lucky enough to be given such a wonderful gift and become a treasured heirloom in her own right.
